Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Yahoo Inc. is reportedly investing in one of its costliest marketing campaigns since its inception a decade and a half ago. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the Internet company is spending over $100 million to generate more buzz about its brand.
As noted by the AP, advertisements for the campaign will be featured on television, online, and throughout other media outlets across the globe. Yahoo Chief Executive Carol Bartz is quoted in the report as stating of efforts to improve the company’s reputation, which has been affected by reports of its financial troubles over the past year, “When you get outside of New York City and Silicon Valley, everybody loves Yahoo… Why are you (the media) so cynical about us? Be cynical about frigging Google. If you don’t love us, leave us alone.”
