Obama Speaks to World Leaders

The president promises cooperation from America on critical world issues.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – President Barack Obama had a challenge for world leaders in his address to the United Nations General Assembly. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Obama promised America’s cooperation on critical world issues, but warned world leaders to not expect the country to take on all of the burden.
Obama is quoted by the AP as stating in his first speech to the Assembly, “Those who used to chastise America for acting alone in the world cannot now stand by and wait for America to solve the world’s problems alone… Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.”
The president is further quoted as stating to the group, “In the year 2009 — more than at any point in human history — the interests of nations and peoples are shared.”
