Screen Actors Guild Gets New President
Actor Ken Howard has been elected SAG president.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Actor Ken Howard has been elected president of the Screen Actors Guild. As reported by Reuters, the news came days after Howard was honored at this year’s Emmy awards ceremony for his work in the HBO film “Grey Gardens.”
As noted in the report, Howard will replace Alan Rosenberg, who chose not to seek re-election as president of the union after serving two terms. Howard, who won with 47 percent of the vote, is quoted by Reuters as releasing a statement saying, “Despite the sharp differences that those of us active in guild affairs sometimes have over strategy and tactics, we need to continually remind ourselves that we’re all on the same team, fighting for the same thing — and by pulling together, we’ll only grow stronger.”
