Beating Death of Chicago Teen Caught on Video
A Chicago teen was beaten to death in a violent altercation between two groups of students last week.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – A Chicago teen was killed recently after walking past a community center while groups of students were engaged in a brawl. As reported by The Chicago Breaking News Center, 16 year-old Derrion Albert was beaten to death in the attack last week, which was caught on videotape.
The Fenger High School junior was reportedly an honor roll student with plans to attend college. He was stated to be an innocent bystander in an altercation between two rival student groups in the neighborhood. Agape Community Center youth worker, T’Awannda Piper, is quoted in the report as stating of Derrion’s death and the problem with violence in the Roseland area, “This gang violence is escalating beyond control… He was caught in it. The kids directly involved walked away healthy, and this kid didn’t walk away at all.”
Three teenagers have reportedly been charged with Derrion’s death.
