Kennedy Successor Sworn In Friday

Paul G. Kirk became the temporary replacement on the Senate for the late Senator Edward Kennedy on Friday.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Vice President Joe Biden swore in Paul G. Kirk as the temporary Senate replacement for the late Senator Edward Kennedy on Friday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Kirk, a former Democratic Party chairman and longtime friend of Kennedy, stated of having mixed feelings about his new role, “It’s exhilarating and sobering at the same time… It’s the highest honor in my life, accepted in humility.” However in regards to the challenges ahead, Kirk is quoted as remarking, “We’re prepared to go to work.”
As noted by the AP, Kirk will remain in the post until a special election in January. He reportedly has stated he will not attempt to run for the position at that time.
