The Texas cemetery that is home to the gravesite of the notorious outlaw has reportedly been left in disarray.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – The gravesite of the notorious outlaw Clyde Barrow, half of the famed duo Bonnie and Clyde is reportedly located within a cemetery that has been neglected. As reported by NBCDFW News, Barrow’s grave, located at the Western Heights Cemetery on Fort Worth Avenue, is surrounded by unkempt grass, headstone pieces, and other signs of neglect despite it being a tourist attraction.
As noted in the report, the cemetery is one of the oldest in Dallas. Historian Angela Buff is quoted in the report as stating of the cemetery’s condition, “To me it’s a historical landmark. It should be kept nice… People from all over come on grave hunts, like me and my friend did.”
Proceeds from a book written by Dallas Cemetery historian Frances James will reportedly be used to generate money for cemeteries in Dallas County that are underfunded.
Bonnie Parker is buried at Crown Hill Memorial Park, which is also in Dallas.
