Flu Vaccine Shipment Delays

The high demand for the production of swine flu vaccines has led to a delay in the production of those for the seasonal flu.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – The increased demand for the production of the swine flu vaccine has led to a delay in the shipment of vaccines for the seasonal flu. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the largest vaccine provider in the U.S. Sanofi Pasteur recently sent notices to health care providers regarding a shipment delay of millions of doses of the vaccines.
Donna Cary, a spokeswoman for Sanofi Pasteur, is quoted by the AP as stating of the delay, “We understand it does create an inconvenience for some people who wanted to hold their seasonal influenza campaigns earlier… We apologize for that, but we’re doing every thing we can.”
As noted in the report, some order shipments may be delayed until November.
