Washington, D.C., (WiredPRNews.com) – John Fenzel, a local area, senior Special Forces officer releases his debut novel, The Lazarus Covenant this week. Fenzel wrote The Lazarus Covenant in his spare time over the last fifteen years, all the while continuing to command Green Berets on our nation’s front lines. Since he began writing The Lazarus Covenant, he’s deployed frequently abroad—throughout Europe and the Middle East, worked in the White House as a Special Assistant to Vice President Dick Cheney and Governor Tom Ridge, was a White House Fellow during the Clinton and Bush administrations, commanded a Special Forces battalion, and served as a Military Assistant to Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumseld.
The Lazarus Covenant is an international suspense novel that explores the scourge of religious extremism, terrorism and war in an unforgettable tale of friendship, faith and forgiveness. It presciently assumes a resurgence of instability in the Balkans and a growing crisis that must be resolved in order to prevent a wholesale clash of civilizations. Although fiction, Fenzel’s premise isn’t terribly unrealistic when you consider Dennis Blair, President Obama’s Director of National Intelligence, recently warned, “current events in Bosnia represent the greatest threat to stability in Europe today.”
Fenzel’s first novel The Lazarus Covenant is already available on amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com, and will hit bookstores nationwide on Thursday, October 1 with a full battery of pre-publication praise from notables like Mary Matalin, Judith Miller, Wesley Clark , and Tom Ridge, as well as correspondents from the Washington Post, U.S. News and World Report, CNN an NBC terrorism analysts, authors and senior military leaders.
Book signings have been scheduled throughout the DC metro area to recognize the author’s debut novel release; starting with an appearance by Fenzel at the Borders in BWI airport this Friday, October 2 from 8 – 11:00am. A list of additional author appearances in the area and throughout the country is available at www.johnfenzel.com. If you can’t make it to a book signing, consider following the author @johnfenzel on Facebook or Twitter.
