Wired PR News reports the owner of a North Texas strip club has been denied an entreprenuer award previously granted to her.

The owner of a North Texas strip club was denied an award connected to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

As reported by CBS 11 News, The Lodge Gentleman’s Club owner and CEO Dawn Rizos has been disqualified as the American Solutions for Winning the Future’s entrepreneur of the year after giving the organization a requested $5,000 to collect the award.

As noted in the report, the organization notified Rizos that a mistake had been made, and another company was the actual recipient of the award. The club has reportedly been promised a refund of their money.

Mike Precker, spokesman for the gentleman’s club, is quoted by CBS 11 as stating, “As Dawn said today, why shouldn’t she be honored, this is a successful small business - it helps hundreds of people make a living, support their families.”
