Study Connects Candy to Crime
A new study suggests too much candy consumption as a child can lead to problem behaviors in adulthood.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Too much candy for children has been linked to more than just cavities. As reported by TIME, a new study proposes that candy can be a culprit in problem behavior later on.
Simon Moore, Violence and Society Research lecturer at Cardiff University in the U.K. and lead researcher of the study, is quoted by TIME as stating he found during his investigation, “kids with the worst problems tend to be impulsive risk takers, and that these kids had terrible diets - breakfast was a Coke and a bag of chips.”
As noted in the report, some question whether sweets are a cause in certain negative behaviors or the over consumption of them are a result of not enough childhood discipline. Moore is further quoted by TIME as stating of the topic, “I think looking at diet is a fairly novel way to think of behavior over the life course.”
