Dallas Neighborhood Tests New Program for Crime Watch
Residents test new neighborhood watch program to combat crime.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Residents of a Dallas neighborhood are testing out a new program to combat area crime. As reported by CBS 11 News, Casa Linda Estates residents are seeking to maintain their standing as having one of the lowest crime rates in Dallas with the implementation of a new neighborhood watch program.
As noted in the report, the program will call for neighbors to place decals in their vehicles to identify residents. Jim Hughes, retired police officer and neighborhood association member, is quoted by CBS 11 as stating of the program, “(the idea is that they will) kind of take a closer look at the vehicle and see what it’s doing, and if it’s stopping, and they’re going around the house, then get a description of the car and a description of the people.”
The decals are reportedly meant to help track suspicious activity.
