An autopsy has revealed that Stephen Gately died of natural causes.
Madrid (WiredPRNews.com) – An autopsy has attributed the recent death of Boyzone singer Stephen Gately to natural causes. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the results, which were released Tuesday, revealed the singer suffered a pulmonary edema, which is the presence of fluid in the lungs.
The Balearic Islands Superior Justice Tribunal is quoted by the AP as releasing the statement, “The singner of the British group Boyzone died from natural causes, owing to an ‘acute pulmonary edema… The autopsy carried out this morning showed there were no signs of violence to the body.” Gately died Oct. 10 at the age of 33 while vacationing in Spain.
As noted in the report, Boyzone was one of the most popular Irish pop groups of the 1990s, and made their comeback in 2007.
