Avril Lavigne and Sum 41’s Whibley to divorce
The couple is reportedly divorcing after three years of marriage.
Los Angeles (WiredPRNews.com) – Singer Avril Lavigne and her musician husband, Deryck Whibley of the rock band Sum 41, are reportedly divorcing after three years of marriage. As reported by AFP, Lavigne recently filed for divorce after announcing the two were separated last month.
Lavigne is quoted by AFP as previously stating of Whibley on her website to her fans, “I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship… I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.”
As noted in the report, Lavigne has sold over 30 million records since the release of her first album in 2002.
