Beyonce postpones concert following accusations
The singer delayed a scheduled performance in Malaysia after criticism of her provocative style of dance and dress.
Malaysia (WiredPRNews.com) – Beyonce has reportedly postponed an upcoming concert in Malaysia after Islamic conservatives criticized her performance and clothing style. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the entertainer put the Oct.25 performance on hold following assertions by the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party that the show would be too provocative.
As noted by the Associated Press (AP), Beyonce previously cancelled a performance in the country following similar criticisms. Female performers are required to follow a dress code at concerts in Malaysia.
Organizers have reportedly insisted the recent postponement decision was not based on criticisms of the conservative group. Malaysian entertainment company Marctensia is quoted in the report as releasing the statement, “The postponement is solely (the) decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons.”
