Baseball team owner fires wife as executive

Frank McCourt has reportedly fired his wife as president of the Dodgers amid divorce.
Los Angeles, California (WiredPRNews.com) – The divorce of Los Angeles Dodgers owner and CEO, Frank McCourt, and his wife Jaime, has reportedly led to her being fired as the team’s president. As reported on the Yahoo! Sports blog, the couple is embroiled in a not so cordial divorce battle, which includes a disagreement over the stake each has in the baseball franchise likely valued at $1 billion.
Jon Heyman of SI.com is quoted by the blog as stating in his report of the firing Thursday, “Jamie McCourt was fired within the last two days, according to several sources. But this is not likely to be the last she’s heard from, as she has said through lawyers that she intends to stake a claim to the franchise, which may be worth a billion dollars, or more.”
