Michelle Obama helps raise breast cancer awareness

The First Lady pushed for the cause in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Washington, D.C. (WiredPRNews.com) – First Lady Michelle Obama put the spotlight on breast cancer awareness at a White House event to support the cause. As reported by the Associated Press Mrs. Obama helped honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month by allowing survivors of the disease and others to share their stories at the event regarding the critical issue.
Mrs. Obama is quoted by the AP as stating of the lack of support for many women with breast cancer in the current health care system, “It’s a system that only adds to the fear and stress that already comes with the disease.”
Mrs. Obama is further quoted as stating in regards to the need for a change in the system, “Perhaps most heartbreaking of all is the fact that right now, today in America, there are people in this country who have breast cancer but don’t even know it because they can’t afford a mammogram.”
