Pelosi calls health care bill historic

The Speaker of the House spoke about the controversial legislation on Thursday.
Washington, D.C. (WiredPRNews.com) – Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, spoke about health care legislation at the Capitol on Thursday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Pelosi regarded the plan to provide coverage to millions in America who may lack health insurance as a “historic.”
Pelosi is quoted by the AP as stating that Congress and lawmakers were, “on the cusp of delivering on the promise of making affordable, quality health insurance available to every American.”
President Barack Obama is further quoted by the AP as releasing the statement in regards to the bill recently outlined by House Democrats that it was a “critical milestone” that “clearly meets two of the fundamental criteria I have set out: It is fully paid for and will reduce the deficit in the long term.”
