Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – The Texas Giant, one of the most popular rides at Six Flags Over Texas is set to close for major renovations. As reported by CBS 11 News, the 19 year-old roller coaster will undergo a $10 million facelift, with changes being made to its controls and other features.
As noted in the report, the park offered the last rides to visitors on the Texas Giant Sunday before its temporary closing. Catelyn Gibbs is quoted by CBS 11 as stating of being among the last to ride it prior to the renovations, “I have ridden it since I was a kid it was my first roller coaster ride so it was a great honor to be one of the last persons ever to ride it.”
