Kashmiri sweethearts angry over prepaid mobile ban
A ban on prepaid mobile phones in the area has left many disgruntled.
Kashmir (WiredPRNews.com) – Many young couples in Kashmir are upset over a prepaid mobile phone ban recently imposed by the Indian government for purported security related purposes. As reported by AFP, the ban will affect those who regularly use the devices to arrange secret meetings with lovers their family members and others, in the region where some dating habits are taboo, may be disapproving of.
One anonymous student is quoted by AFP as stating of the ban, “For a few hundred militants they have made tens of thousands (of people) suffer… The ban will hit us hard… I don’t want to get into the post-paid business of (police) verifications and detailed bills arriving at your residence. I’ll get caught.”
As noted in the report, all prepaid services will be shut off January 31.
