Oprah removes Winans from show segment
The daytime television host is reportedly making the change in connection to a domestic violence charge against the singer.
New York (WiredPRNews.com) – Daytime talk show host and media mogul Oprah Winfrey is reportedly cutting guest BeBe Winans from an upcoming segment on her show due to pending domestic violence charges against him. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Winfrey received criticism by some bloggers for including him in a “karaoke challenge” feature after charges were brought against him for a domestic violence incident in February.
As noted by the AP, Winfrey previously spoke out against domestic violence after another singer, Chris Brown, assaulted his former girlfriend Rihanna. Winfrey is quoted as stating during that time, “Domestic violence is something that I wouldn’t tolerate. Period.”
Winans reportedly is set to appear in court for the charges Jan. 20.
