Six injured after gunman opens fire in office tower

A former employee at an engineering firm opened fire in the building’s tower Friday.
Orlando, Florida (WiredPRNews.com) – A gunman who opened fire Friday at an office tower housing the engineering firm in which he previously worked has been apprehended. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the shooting suspect, Jason Rodriguez, who was let go from the firm two years ago, surrendered to police after being found at his mother’s home.
Orlando Police Chief Val Demings is quoted by the AP as stating of the shootings, “This is a tragedy no doubt about it, especially on the heels of the tragedy in Fort Hood that is on our minds…I’m just glad we don’t have any more fatalities or any more injuries than we currently have.”
As noted in the report, one person died, and five others were injured at the incident at the 16-story Legion Place office building.
