Obama urges House to vote in favor of health reform
President Barack Obama appealed to Democrats Saturday to pass historic legislation for health care reform.
Washington, D.C. (WiredPRNews.com) – President Barack Obama made a plea to House Democrats Saturday urging the passage of health care legislation that would provide insurance coverage for millions who may not have it. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the President spoke about health care reform at the White House, while lawmakers debated on a $1.2 trillion bill.
Obama is quoted by the AP as stating of the bill, “…opportunities like this come around maybe once in a generation…. This is their moment, this is our moment, to live up to the trust that the American people have placed in us… I urge members of Congress to rise to this moment. Answer the call of history, and vote yes for health insurance reform for America.”
