Rachel Ray helps hungry in Ohio town
The cooking star helps supply food and other items to a soup kitchen.
Wilmington, Ohio (WiredPRNews.com) – Rachel Ray, one of television’s most prominent cooking stars, has come to the aid of a struggling Ohio town with a generous donation to a local soup kitchen. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Ray purchased new furniture and appliances for the Wilmington based soup kitchen and has vowed to provide it with food for a year.
The city has reportedly been impacted by the exit of DHL Express and other Air Park operations there, which has led to significantly higher unemployment in the town. The number of visitors to the soup kitchen has purportedly increased.
As noted by the AP, an early Thanksgiving dinner was provided to the Wilmington community by the Food Network on Sunday, which is expected to be shown on “The Rachel Ray Show” Nov. 25.
