Lou Dobbs parts ways with CNN
The longtime correspondent announced his departure Wednesday.
New York (WiredPRNews.com) – CNN television host Lou Dobbs announced on Wednesday that he would be leaving the network. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Dobbs told viewers of his news program that he would be parting ways with CNN to pursue other opportunities.
Dobbs is quoted in the report as stating of his resignation, “This will be my last broadcast.” The news was welcomed by some activists who disagree with Dobbs reporting style on certain issues. Roberto Lovato, co-founder of Presente.org, is quoted by the AP as stating, “Our contention all along was that Lou Dobbs — who has a long history of spreading lies and conspiracy theories about immigrants and Latinos — does not belong on the most trusted name in news… We are thrilled that Dobbs no longer has the legitimate platform from which to incite fear and hate.”
As noted in the report, Dobbs began working with CNN in 1980, when it first came on air.
