Oprah show to end after 25 years
The long running daytime talk show will reportedly soon come to a close.
Chicago, Illinois (WiredPRNews.com) – One of the country’s most celebrated women in daytime TV is reportedly closing the curtains on her long running talk show. As reported by Access Hollywood, “The Oprah Winfrey Show” is expected to end its run in 2011, after 25 years on the air.
Tim Bennett, President of Harpo, is quoted in the report as stating of the decision Thursday in a letter to affiliates of the show, “Tomorrow, Oprah will announce live on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ that she has decided to end what is arguably one of the most popular, influential and enduring programs in television history… The sun will set on the ‘Oprah’ show as its 25th season draws to a close on September 9, 2011.”
