Lambert AMA show draws numerous complaints
A recent performance by the American Idol runner up received complaints by numerous American Music Awards viewers.
New York (WiredPRNews.com) – Over 1,000 viewers of the recent American Music Awards ceremony sent in complaints about the racy performance of American Idol runner up Adam Lambert. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), television network ABC stated Monday that it had received approximately 1,500 complaints about Lambert’s performance, during which he shared a kiss with a male performer.
Lambert is quoted by the AP as stating in response to the controversy surrounding his performance, “There are a lot of double standards as far as that goes…We’ve seen female pop and rock performers do that for the last 10 years. They’ve been very provocative, owning their power and sexuality. You just don’t see men doing it very often. And I’m hoping to break down that double standard with this number.”
