Michael Jackson history making AMA wins
The deceased pop icon had a record making number of wins at the recent awards ceremony.
Los Angeles (WiredPRNews.com) – Late pop icon Michael Jackson won a record breaking number of posthumous awards at the American Music Awards, which aired on Sunday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Jackson received wins in four of the five categories in which he was nominated.
As noted by the AP, the night was filled with noteworthy performances by artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, and Whitney Houston. Country superstar Taylor Swift received the night’s top honor of favorite artist of the year. Swift is quoted by the AP as stating of her win, and beating outside Michael Jackson, “Music has never been ultimately about competition… To even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson, who we will miss and love forever, is an unimaginable honor.”
