Travel increase expected for Thanksgiving
The number of people expected to travel for the upcoming holiday is higher than last year.
Washington (WiredPRNews.com) – Travel is expected to increase this Thanksgiving holiday from the amount seen last year. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the anticipated number of those who travel by car to a destination away from home for the upcoming holiday is up by more than two percent from last year. However, the number of air travelers is expected to be down by more than six percent amid difficult economic times.
Geoff Sundstrom, a spokesman for AAA’s national office, is quoted by the AP as stating of the AAA auto club report, “The economy is still very clearly weighing heavily on the minds of Thanksgiving travelers this year, and that’s evidenced by the very small increase that we expect to see in total travel.”
