QVC jumps on Black Friday bandwagon
The television retailer plans to provide shoppers with competitive deals on the highly anticipated shopping day.
West Chester, Pennsylvania (WiredPRNews.com) – Television shopping network QVC is planning to showcase new specials on Black Friday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the network, which typically treats the day after Thanksgiving shopping day as any other day, is joining other retailers in offering widely sought after Black Friday discounts to shoppers this year.
Doug Rose, QVC vice president of programming and marketing, is quoted by the AP as stating of jumping on the bandwagon, “This year, and we’ve been planning on this for many months, we really expect to join the fray with the other retailers.”
Rose is further quoted as stating of QVC being a nice alternative for some shoppers who may not enjoy having to deal with the large in store crowds, “There are a lot of people who think of going to the mall on ‘Black Friday’ as dental surgery — painful and awful… We’ll be a good alternative.”
