Computer security a higher priority for companies
Many companies are expected to increase spending in technology next year.
U.S. (WiredPRNews.com) – An increase in technology spending may prove to be of benefit for security vendors next year. As reported by Investors Business Daily, a majority of companies polled for a Pacific Crest Securities survey expressed intentions on increasing spending for computer security and other technology, with computer sales being a significant factor for the increase in demand.
Pacific Crest analyst Rob Owens is quoted in the report as stating of the survey results, “It’s a function of the threat landscape as well as continued (regulatory) compliance… I think this is different from past (economic) cycles where there was spending on security in the downturn but it took a back seat in the recovery.”
As noted in the report, the survey, which polled 80 companies about their spending plans was released early this week.
