Soy may decrease cancer risks in women
A new study suggests soy may decrease the risk of certain cancers in women.
New York (WiredPRNews.com) – New research proposes soy may lessen the risks of certain cancers for women. As reported by Reuters, researchers found that eating soy may contribute to lowered risks of endometrial and ovarian cancers.
As noted by Reuters, past studies have linked some soy compounds to an increased risk of the development of breast cancer, but the recent findings suggest some may decrease the risks of developing endometrial and ovarian cancers by 40 percent. However, as noted in the report by Dr. Kwon Myung, with the National Cancer Center in Goyang, Korea, who is one of the authors of the study, definite conclusions cannot be drawn from the preliminary findings.
More information about the study may be available in BJOG, An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
