New health care compromise praised
President Obama and other Democrats commended a new compromise on health care legislation.
Washington, D.C. (WiredPRNews.com) – President Barack Obama and several Democrats have praised an emerging compromise on health care legislation. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the compromise makes some hopeful that a health care overhaul is imminent in the near future.
Obama is quoted by the AP as calling the measure, “a creative new framework that I believe will help pave the way for final passage of legislation and a historic achievement for the American people… I support this effort, especially since it’s aimed at increasing choice and competition and lowering cost.”
Some; however, state lawmakers still have a ways to go before a bipartisan agreement is reached. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill. is further quoted in the report as stating, “…believe me there are legitimate and serious questions being raised by members of the caucus . . . so we have work to do.”
