Arlington couple accused of slavery
An Arlington couple has been accused of keeping a woman as their slave.
Arlington, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – An Arlington couple has been accused of holding a woman from Nigeria as a slave. As reported by CBS 11 News, the couple was indicted by a grand jury on related charges this week.
As noted in the report, Emmanuel and Ngozi Nnaji, allegedly kept the woman, a mother of six, as their domestic servant without pay for nine years. Emmanuel Nnaji is also accused of assaulting the victim sexually and making threats to her. The list of charges for the couple includes conspiracy, alien harboring, and others. They were arrested for the charges in September.
As further noted by CBS 11 News, if convicted, the couple may each face prison terms of up to 55 years. The case is still under investigation.
