Obama optimistic about health care passage
The president has reportedly expressed optimism that the Senate is near passage of health care legislation.
Washington, D.C. (WiredPRNews.com) – President Barack Obama has recently expressed optimism that the Senate is near passage of sweeping health care legislation. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Obama spoke Tuesday of the reform measure as Congress continues to debate controversial issues linked to strong Republican opposition.
Obama is quoted by the AP as stating of the emerging bill, “It is deficit-neutral. It bends the cost curve. It covers 30 million Americans who don’t have health insurance, and it has extraordinary insurance reforms in there to make sure that we’re preventing abuse.”
Obama is further quoted in the report as stating of continuing negotiations, “There are still disagreements that have to be ironed out. There is still work to be done in the next few days.”
