As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the couple, who have been married for 10 years, were officially divorced on Friday. The Gosselins, who have eight children together, have been the focus of several tabloid headlines over the past few months.

As noted by the AP, Kate was awarded primary custody and the family’s eastern Pennsylvania home in the settlement. Mark Momjian, her attorney, is quoted in the report as stating of how his client is handling the divorce, “Divorce is always a difficult process, and in this case there’s obviously the added challenge of being a celebrity and having to deal with the reality of such a large family… But I know she is very excited about restructuring her life and looking forward to the new year.”
