Nelson gives needed vote for health care bill
The Senator has reportedly decided in favor of health care legislation.
Washington, D.C. (WiredPRNews.com) – Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson has reportedly provided the 60th vote needed to pass monumental health care legislation in the Senate. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Nelson’s backing of the bill may mean passage of the controversial legislation to reform the health care system within the United States before the holidays.
Obama is quoted by the Associated Press (AP) as stating of the breakthrough, “After a nearly century-long struggle, we are on the cusp of making health care reform a reality in the United States of America.” Aside from provisions to provide health care coverage for over 30 million people who currently do not have it, the bill reportedly includes regulations for penalizing companies for raising prices prior to the enactment of the legislation.
