Yahoo headquarters closing for holidays
The corporation is closing its offices for the holidays to cut costs.
Sunnyvale, CA (WiredPRNews.com) – Yahoo has reportedly decided to take a break for the holidays, and close its offices temporarily to save money after experiencing a year of declining revenue. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the technology giant will close its offices for the period from Christmas until New Year’s as a means of cutting costs.
As noted by the AP, the move to require a majority of its employees to take vacation or unpaid leave for the end of the year holidays is a first for the company. Yahoo reportedly has 13,200 employees. Some who perform core duties will be allowed to work during the holiday break period.
As further noted in the report, this year’s revenue decline marks the first Yahoo has seen since 2001.
