Steven Tyler has reportedly checked into rehab for an addiction to painkillers.
Los Angeles (WiredPRNews.com) – Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has reportedly checked into a rehab center. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the singer entered the facility due to a painkiller addiction to a medication used to treat previous performance injuries.
Tyler, 61, is quoted by the AP as releasing the statement Tuesday regarding his enthusiasm about being able to return to work with his band members, “I love Aerosmith; I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith. I am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of.”
As noted in the report, Tyler previously dealt with drug and alcohol addiction earlier in his career, for which he completed a rehab program in the mid-1980s.
