Colorado minimum wage is reportedly set to fall by three cents.

The state’s minimum wage will reportedly fall in the new year.

Colorado (WiredPRNews.com) – Colorado’s minimum wage is expected to fall by three cents in 2010. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the decrease will make the state the first in the history of the U.S. to lower the minimum wage.

As noted in the report, in ten states in the U.S., including Colorado, the minimum wage is linked to inflation. However, states are not allowed to decrease the wage below the federal $7.25 minimum.

John Mullen, a construction worker who is currently out of work, is quoted by the AP as stating of the state’s wage change, “It is hard to make it, hard to get by… But the law is the law. What can you do?”

Although the change is small, many have reportedly expressed concerns over the impact.
