Dublin (WiredPRNews.com) – Recent claims made that legendary singer Van Morrison fathered a new son are reportedly false. As reported by AFP, the announcement on his website was stated to be the work of a hacker, whose claims were published across the globe.

As noted in the report, a statement was released Thursday on behalf of Morrison calling for an investigation into an alleged website attack that allowed the information to be released. Morrison’s statement, released by The Fleishman-Hilliard International public relations company, is quoted by AFP as stating, “Claims were made relating to my personal life in a ’statement’ purporting to come from me. Once these claims were brought to our attention… The comments… did not come from me. They are completely and utterly without foundation.”

Morrison further noted in the statement, “For the avoidance of all doubt and in the interests of clarity, I am very happily married to Michelle Morrison with whom I have two wonderful children.”
