Snowboarder severely injured in accident
American snowboarder Kevin Pearce has reportedly been seriously injured in an accident.
Salt Lake City (WiredPRNews.com) – Snowboarder Kevin Pearce has reportedly been seriously injured in an accident. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Pearce suffered a traumatic brain injury after a training accident Thursday and was said to be in stable condition on Saturday.
Dr. Holly Ledyard is quoted by the AP as stating of Pearce in a statement released by the American snowboarder’s publicist, “Kevin sustained a severe, traumatic brain injury … (and) is being kept sedated… The focus over the next week will be watching for any swelling in his brain and keeping his brain pressure normal.”
A spokesperson for Pearce, Danielle Burch, is further quoted in the report as stating of the matter, “Family and friends remain positive and are thankful for the outpouring of support.”
