U.S. (Mesothelioma Cancer News) - Allegro Diagnostics is reportedly set to launch a new test for early-stage lung cancer this year. As reported by BioArray News, the BronchoGen will reportedly be offered by the molecular diagnostics firm later in the year and the company may possibly seek clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the Affymetrix manufactured test.
Allegro CEO Dan Rippy is quoted in the report as stating of the plans, “From a CLIA perspective, we anticipate being able to offer BronchoGen in 2010… It’s not entirely clear if we will get it cleared through FDA as a kit; we may offer it as an FDA-cleared service through the lab instead… Either way, we would hope to be able to submit BronchoGen to the FDA by year end 2010 or thereabouts.”
