Attacks on social networking sites more sophisticated
Social networking sites are expected be threatened with more sophisticated attacks by hackers this year.
Washington (WiredPRNews.com) – Hackers are expected to be more sophisticated in their attacks this year on popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. As reported by AFP, Web security firm McAfee Labs recently released their 2010 Threat Predictions report, which cited the anticipated increase in attacks.
McAfee is quoted by AFP as stating of their predictions, “The explosion of applications on Facebook and other services will be an ideal vector for cybercriminals, who will take advantage of friends trusting friends to click links they might otherwise treat cautiously… However, in 2010 we expect to see an increase in the effectiveness of law enforcement to fight back against cybercrime.”
As noted by AFP, the report was released by the firm on Tuesday.
