Dallas community supports local star after fire

Local artists hold benefit to raise money for Liz Mikel who lost all of her belongings in a fire.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – Artists and others in the Dallas community are showing support for local singer and actress Liz Mikel, who recently lost all of her belongings in a fire. As reported by CBS 11 News, Mikel, who is most known for her role on “Friday Night Lights,” along with others living in the apartment complex in North Dallas that burned down last week, was displaced after the occurrence.
Mikel is quoted in the report as stating of the surge of support she has since received, including a benefit Sunday in Deep Ellum, “To have the love and support of my friends and community, it means the world to us. But, it shows the nature of people and how huge our hearts are as a community in Dallas.”
As noted in the report, the actress will be featured in the upcoming musical “Give it Up” at the Dallas Theater Center, with Jan. 15 proceeds from the production being used to help Mikel.
