Obama takes responsibility for anti-terror failures
The president spoke Thursday about anti-terrorism failures.
Washington (WiredPRNews.com) – President Barack Obama spoke Thursday about lapses in security measures amid controversy over an attempted terrorist attack Christmas Day. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Obama stated that he would bear responsibility for the purported widespread failures; however, no firings were anticipated in connection with the issues. Obama is quoted in the report as stating of the matter, “When the system fails, it is my responsibility.”
As noted by the AP, Obama outlined in his statements initiatives that would be undertaken to fix the issues in national security. The president is further quoted as stating of the measures, “There is, of course, no foolproof solution… We have to stay one step ahead of a nimble adversary…We are at war, we are at war against al-Qaida. We will do whatever it takes to defeat them.”
