Program aimed to jumpstart hiring in Texas

A new program offers employers in Texas incentives for hiring.
Dallas (WiredPRNews.com) – A new program has been implemented by the Texas Workforce Commission to jumpstart hiring. As reported by CBS 11 News, the Texas Back to Work Program, funded by Texas’ general fund, will provide bonuses to employers who hire workers who are unemployed.
As noted in the report, $15 million has been allocated by the Texas Workforce Commission for the program. Employers who hire workers drawing unemployment benefits may receive bonuses of $1,000.
Laurie Larrea, with Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas, is quoted by CBS 11 as stating of the program, “This is the first program where we’re saying to the employer, get on board and help us out. Let’s put some people back to work.”
