Russian officer accused of fraud after YouTube complaints
A police officer in Russia has been arrested following accusations of corruption by law enforcement in the country.
Moscow (WiredPRNews.com) – A police officer in Russia, who previously released complaints about law enforcement corruption in the country on YouTube has been arrested. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Alexei Dymovsky was arrested Friday on charges of fraud according to The Investigative Committee.
As noted by the AP, Dymovsky posted videos on the video sharing site YouTube last year citing instances of corruption by law enforcement officials. Dymovsky reportedly alleged he was offered a promotion in exchange for jailing a person who was innocent of a crime they were accused of, and made other accusations in the videos.
As further noted in the report, 700,000 people have viewed the videos. Dymovsky has reportedly since been fired from his position and founded an organization for rights defense.
