Eberstein Witherite reports on Dallas deputy hospitalized after car accident on I-30

A Dallas County sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized on Thursday morning after a car accident that occurred on I-30 westbound in The Canyon.
The deputy was on his way to back to another office when he lost control of his squad car, collided with a concrete barrier and then crashed into a portable freeway signboard.
He was trapped inside the car for a while before being rescued, but was taken to Baylor University Medical Center. He suffered no broken bones and only minor injuries from the accident.
The deputy was responding to a call regarding a homeless man lying on the freeway.
Officials have not released the name of the deputy.
