Dallas may get subway downtown

The city may see plans get under way for a subway station downtown.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – Dallas city planners are considering plans for further developments in the area that may include a subway station downtown. As reported by NBC DFW News, the subway plans of Dallas Area Rapid Transit are being considered as a possible means to relieve congestion in the downtown area.
Mayor Tom Leppert is quoted in the report as stating of the transit plans amid an increase in residents in the area, “There’s all the pieces that link together… Think of it as one pearl next to another pearl and put them all together and you’ve got a string of pearls.”
Dallas Council member Angela Hunt is further quoted as stating of the impact on the plans in the city, “Most of these projects are done with public private partnerships… We have to work with the private sector to create the incentives to bring people back to the heart of our city.”
