Controversial diet secret comes to North Texas
A new weight loss center in North Texas claims an injection can aid in weight loss.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – North Texas is seeing a growth in a new kind of weight loss center that offers an alternative solution for those seeking to lose weight. As reported by CBS 11 News, Several B-Ki weight loss centers have opened in the area that offer HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) injections as part of a weight loss regimen, which is purported to speed up the weight loss process.
Flower Mound teacher Lisa Escalante is quoted in the report as stating of the program, “I saw somebody go through this program, and it was amazing… “I lost 36.5 pounds in 40 days.”
However, some remain skeptical about claims made regarding the use of HCG for weight loss, UT Southwestern Endocrinologist Richard Auchus is further quoted as stating, “There have been a number of studies that the FDA has concluded there is no evidence of HCG in weight loss or fat distribution.”
As noted in the report, HCG has been approved by the FDA for fertility use, but not for weight loss.
